Nursing: Assistant/Associate Professor - Fall 2025

The Assistant or Associate Professor teaches class and clinical courses, while providing creativity in the learning environment and fostering student engagement. Scholarship and service to the college are also required. This is a 10-month appointment in the school of health sciences which reports directly to the Department Chair of Nursing.

Essential Function 1 -
Effectively teach and evaluate nursing students in both classroom and clinical settings

Essential Funcation 2 -
Collaborate with other nursing faculty to ensure student learning and program outcomes are met

Essential Funcation 3 -
Advise/mentor students as assigned by school

Essential Funcation 4 -
Teach in simulation and clinical practice laboratories as assigned

Doctoral degree in nursing or related field (at least one graduate degree in Nursing discipline)
Must have a minimum of 3 years prior employment in direct patient care and clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse
Must be able to develop, implement and evaluate teaching plans for classroom and clinical settings
Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
Must be collegial with faculty, staff, and students
Must hold a current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in Georgia or have eligibility to obtain Georgia Registered Professional Nurse License.
Must have current BCLS certification
Two years of experience in nursing education (college or clinical)
Certified as Nurse Educator

Proficiency with D2L Learning Management System, Banner INB, & Microsoft Office Software
