Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for a full-time Budget Analyst.

Job Details:
Location: F&M Campus - Lancaster, PA
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Schedule: 40 hours, Monday to Friday.
Reports to: Director of Budget, Financial Planning & Analysis
Department: Finance & Administration
Approved Salary Range: $59,000.00 - $63,500.00

Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Budget, Financial Planning, and Analysis, the Budget Analyst supports strategic decision-making and financial stewardship at Franklin & Marshall College. This position is responsible for supporting financial forecasting, analyzing budget and expenditure data, and producing actionable insights.

Essential Functions:
Analyze complex financial data and trends to support budget development, variance analysis, and institutional reporting.
Provide one-on-one training and coaching to budget managers to strengthen financial literacy, enhance understanding of budgeting principles, and improve the effective use of financial data for planning, monitoring, and decision-making.
Collaborate with the Director of Budget, Financial Planning & Analysis to prepare annual operating and capital budgets.
Support and maintain multi-year financial models to support strategic planning, operating budget forecasting, and long-term sustainability.
Provide analytics for institutional initiatives, including new academic programs, facilities planning, resource allocations and realignments.
Lead and support special projects, including cost-benefit analyses, benchmarking studies, and scenario planning.
Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies, tools, and best practices.
Prepare and post budget adjustment entries in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
At least 4 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or planning.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
Proficiency with Excel and experience with financial systems.
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in Google Suite Products (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive)
Evidence of a commitment to community & belonging.
Successful interview.
Successful completion of background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree (MBA, MPA, or related field).
Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
Familiarity with fund accounting and institutional budget models.

Additional Information:
