College/Department Information

The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.

Job Summary

This position assists the Campus Associate Dean in the on-going development and management of the Wellstar regional clinical campus in the areas of regional campus student recruitment, student support services, faculty recruitment, faculty appointments, and regional campus development activities.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain databases of the regional campus, track student assignment student grades into the Banner System periodically.

  • Create, coordinate and maintain timeline for projects, running concurrent projects in multiple sites.

  • Develop spreadsheets for regional campus information and maintain matrix of community teaching sites.

  • Plan regional campus events such as bus tours, campus visits, community outreach, etc.

  • Act as liaison for SW Campus Deans to increase MCG SW regional brand awareness. Increase number of collaborations with individuals and institutions to further MCG's mission within the region.

  • Coordinate LIC curriculum, including academic half days, D2L content, student assignments, and grades to ensure comparability in curriculum at direction of LIC Director.

  • Develop, update and reproduce community faculty development notebooks, including complex maps for campus development and preceptor sites.

  • Create quarterly newsletters and other regularly scheduled communications documents for community faculty.
    Maintain appointment calendar and files for Campus Deans for the SW campus.

  • Develop itineraries for travel and coordinate learning sessions for both students (CBL,PCL etc.) and faculty (annual Jekyll Island faculty development workshops).

  • Arrange meetings around campus and state as needed.

  • Travel to regional deans' meetings and clinical sites, when necessary, held on regional campuses to provide administrative support to the deans, faculty and students.

  • Locally manage follow up for faculty appointments.

  • Under supervision of the Associate Dean for Evaluation, CQI, and Accreditation maintain the year 3 availability tracking and One45 schedule with communication to curriculum office for registration and the capacity spreadsheet.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years professional or administrative experience to include minimum of 2 years of educational program experience or similar experience; OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and 7 years professional or administrative experience to include minimum of 4 years of educational program experience or similar experience; OR High school diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accredited organization and 10 years professional or administrative experience to include minimum of 6 years of educational program experience or similar experience.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F

Pay Band: 8

Salary: Minimum $21.83/hour - $25.26/hour

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment
