Job Summary
The ARC Student Worker provides essential administrative and operational support to ensure equitable access to academic programs, services, and activities for students with disabilities. This role supports daily office operations, assists professional staff, and contributes to the implementation of academic accommodations in compliance with university policy and federal accessibility requirements. The position offers meaningful professional experience in higher education, disability services, and inclusive practices.
Essential Duties
  • Administrative Support: Data entry, filing, scanning, and document management tasks
  • Answer phone and email inquiries and route messages to appropriate staff members
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student records
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, exams, and accommodation-related services
  • Accommodation Support: Support the provision of accommodation-related resources, including notetaking, captioning, alternative media, and assistive technology services, as needed
  • Assist Director with workshops, orientations, trainings, or outreach events
  • Monitor, organize, and restock office supplies
  • Assist professional staff with special projects, data collection, research, or reporting tasks
  • Student Support & Outreach
  • Assist with promoting awareness of disability services through peer outreach and campus events
  • Model inclusive communication and disability-affirming practices in all interactions
Required Qualifications
  • MoWest Student
  • Degree Seeking
  • At least an overall 2.0 GPA
  • Enrolled at least part-time
  • Eligible for Work Study
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest in disability studies, education, social work, counseling, psychology, or higher education administration
  • Previous experience in an office
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional email and phone etiquette
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling records, scheduling, and data entry
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment when handling sensitive information

Physical Demands Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

Work Schedule: 8–20 hours per week during the academic term
