The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of vascular surgery and endovascular therapy. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Completion of an accredited fellowship or integrated residency in vascular surgery is required. Applicants must also hold or be eligible for American Board of Surgery sub-specialty certification in vascular surgery.
Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of medical students, general surgery residents and vascular surgery fellows, as well as trainees in the integrated general/vascular surgery residency program.
Clinical responsibilities may include in-patient and outpatient care in adult vascular surgery and endovascular therapy.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include pursuit of clinical and/or basic science research related to vascular surgery. The successful candidate will have prior research experience, including evidence of training in research methodology, and have demonstrated evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship. Support and mentorship for research will be provided.
The successful candidate will serve as Attending Vascular Surgeon and will practice at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, flagship institution of the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
