Adjuncts are hired on a course basis each term.

Salary Range for Adjuncts teaching in this academic area is $500.00 - $3,750.00 per course.

Governors State University’s College of Arts and Sciences seeks to create an available pool of local (Chicagoland area) Adjunct Faculty candidates to teach undergraduate courses in Philosophy.


Essential Responsibilities

We are particularly interested in adjunct faculty to teach courses in the following areas: Ethics in Healthcare (online), Logic & Practical Reasoning (on-campus), and Philosophy of Religion (any modality).  


 Interested individuals are invited to complete a faculty profile, attach a curriculum vita, cover letter, transcripts and list of references for consideration. If available, please also include a sample syllabus.


 At Governors State University, adjunct faculty are hired as temporary faculty with teaching responsibilities for a specific course in a semester or summer session. Adjuncts are not a part of the faculty bargaining unit and are not included in membership of the Faculty Senate.
