Postdoctoral fellow to study wound healing in a bile duct model

The postdoctoral fellow will work on a project to understand developmental susceptibility to injury and the wound healing response of the extra hepatic bile ducts, including the role of soluble and mechanical factor signaling and the function of the EHBD interstitium. This work is relevant to the human disease biliary atresia although is primarily focused on the basic understanding of wound healing and fibrosis in response to injury. After learning techniques and carrying out initial projects, the postdoc will be encouraged to help guide the direction of the work. Recent publications relevant to this project include PMID: 37611641 , 38762769, 39717503, 39687604. The PI has a record of successful academic and industry job placement of postdocs and is committed to their career development.

The laboratory includes both cell biologists and bioengineers, and is generally focused on the relationshiop between mechanical factors and the matrix in fibrosis and cancer, using the liver and biliary tree as model systems.


Qualifications
Must have a PhD or equivalent degree; PGY 0 or 1 preferred. Candidate will ideally have experience working with rodents and must be willing to do some basic animal work including tissue harvest and isolation of primary cells. Candidates who hae experience with cell culture, microscopy, and image analysis preferred.
