The Detre Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania, under the mentorship of Dr. John Detre and Dr. Sudipto Dolui, is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join a multidisciplinary team investigating brain aging and Alzheimer's disease and related dementias through advanced neuroimaging methods. This position will support multiple NIH funded projects aimed at improving understanding of the underlying pathophysiology of aging and neurodegeneration and at developing advanced biomarkers of vascular brain health. Our lab conducts clinical and translational research utilizing structural, functional, and physiological magnetic resonance imaging methods, with a particular emphasis on cerebral blood flow imaging derived from arterial spin labeling to assess cerebrovascular integrity and neural activity. We analyze both locally acquired data and data aggregated from large national and international neuroimaging datasets.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in biomedical research, be enthusiastic and highly motivated to participate in team science, and possess strong computing skills, including proficiency in coding languages such as Matlab, Python, or R. Experience in machine learning or deep learning, or a willingness to learn and apply these methods, is strongly desired. This position offers the opportunity to participate in an innovative research environment, gain hands-on experience with a variety of image analysis techniques, learn about the neuroscience of aging and dementia, and make critical contributions to primary research publications and grant proposals.
The successful applicant will develop specialized expertise in cerebral blood flow imaging, arterial spin labeling, multimodal MRI, data harmonization, and quantitative neuroimaging approaches that support research in normal aging and Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and contribute to the development of sensitive and specific neuroimaging biomarkers.
Salary: Competitive, commensurate with NIH postdoctoral guidelines.
