Position Announcement
The Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering (www.uvu.edu/cet/mce) invites applications for two (2) tenure-track faculty positions in mechanical engineering to begin August 1, 2026.
The mechanical engineering faculty member develops and teaches undergraduate courses, such as pre-engineering courses, seminar courses, core mechanical engineering courses, laboratory courses, open-ended design courses, and electives in their respective specialty area. The faculty member engages in scholarly activities that contribute to the mission of the university, department, and profession. In addition, the faculty member provides service at the department, college, and university levels.

The Mechanical and Civil Engineering Department offers ABET-accredited bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering and in civil engineering, as well as associate's degrees in pre-engineering. Additionally, the mechanical engineering program is seeking to establish an aerospace engineering emphasis to prepare students to contribute to Utah's booming aerospace industry.
The Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering will be commissioning its labs in the new Scott M. Smith Engineering Building in January 2026. Among other labs, the new building includes a composite materials lab, a materials testing lab, a subsonic wind tunnel lab, an energy lab, an indoor drone motion capture lab, controls and vibration labs, and an advanced manufacturing lab.
The department will accept all qualified applications, but is particularly interested in applicants with experience in aerospace engineering applications.
