Position Summary:

The Department of Chemistry invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Synthetic Organic Chemistry to work at the Moscow campus. We seek a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary scientist who will establish a strong, extramurally funded research program that builds on existing strengths and fosters collaborations across the college and university.
Candidates should demonstrate exceptional promise in Synthetic Organic Chemistry. Expertise in applying artificial intelligence to chemical synthesis is desirable. The position is particularly well-suited to candidates with research interests in drug discovery, biomedical applications, or the development of sustainable methods and materials.

Minimum Education/Degree Required:
Listed degree qualification is required at time of hire.
Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry 
  • Experience in the field of synthetic organic chemistry.
  • Experienced researcher and teacher.

 

 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postdoctoral experience.
  • A strong commitment and potential for collaboration with other UI College of Science faculty.
