JOB TITLE Senior Animal Care Technician LOCATION Worcester DEPARTMENT NAME Life Sciences & Bioengineering Center - LSBC - JM DIVISION NAME Worcester Polytechnic Institute - WPI JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY WPI's Research Department is seeking a Senior Animal Care Technician to provide animal care and husbandry to a variety of small laboratory animals across multiple WPI facilities. This is a temporary 10 hours per week position for 12 months. JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities:
Provide top level animal care and husbandry to ensure compliance with regulatory 60 bodies: WPI, IACUC, OLAW, AAALAC, EHS, and USDA.
Follow all animal welfare regulations and the ethical use of animals in research.
Operation of various equipment including cage washer, dump station, autoclaves, and anesthesia machines is required.
Mentor/Train/Lead small teams of Animal Care Attendants in all aspects of animal care and vivarium maintenance.
