The Columbia Climate School (CCS) invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Lecturer in Discipline, to begin July 1, 2026. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, renewable appointment with multi-year renewal contingent on successful reviews. Lecturers in Discipline are officers in the University who meet a programmatic need for instruction in specialized fields. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of teaching experience in the broad area of climate and sustainability, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: climate change mitigation, climate change adaptation, climate justice and/or climate and food systems. Candidates for this position should have the capacity to build out a strong teaching portfolio that fits within our innovative and interdisciplinary degree programs at the CCS

  EMPLOYMENT TERMS:  Full-time position PRIMARY DUTY:  The Director works closely with the Provost, Associate Provosts, Deans, School Chairs, other academic leaders, university staff, and faculty to support the work of the Learning & Teaching Center and Northwest Online. The focus of the Learning & Teaching Center is to increase the university's engagement and leadership in teaching pedagogy, learning, and the application of information/instructional technology to learning in campus, blended, and online courses. Northwest Online includes coordinating with university leadership, our academic leaders, and our online enablement services partner to support online programs in marketing, recruitment, student retention, and program development.
