Governors State University is seeking to hire a Clinical Mental Health Counselor to provide comprehensive clinical services and outreach/educational programming to support the mental health and well-being of Governors State University's diverse student population. Using a brief/time-limited therapy model, the Counselor conducts diagnostic assessments; develops and implements treatment plans; and provides individual, couples, and group therapy for students presenting with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, academic and interpersonal difficulties, and other mental health needs. The Counselor also provides crisis counseling and intervention for students experiencing acute mental health or substance-related emergencies and facilitates referrals to campus and community resources when appropriate.
