Lecturer: Mechanical Engineering RIT's Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking applicants for a non-tenure track lecturer position. Based on candidate qualifications and interests this may be at the rank of Visiting Lecturer or Permanent Lecturer. Visiting Lecturers are hired on one year appointments that can renewed two times. Permanent Lecturers at RIT are hired on renewable, long-term contracts with a pathway for promotion from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer to Principal Lecturer. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field. Candidates with extensive collegiate instructional experience may be considered for hire at higher rank (e.g., senior lecturer or principal lecturer). Responsibilities include teaching courses across the entire mechanical engineering curriculum. Successful candidates will have demonstrated evidence of instructional excellence.     The Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics (APAM) at Columbia University in the City of New York invites applications for a Senior Staff Associate position in the area of magnetically confined plasma research. The successful candidate will advance research in magnetically confined plasmas and support the broader goals of the Columbia Fusion Research Center. In the tokamak area, the candidate may conduct research on experimental tokamak facilities in the public sector. Examples include the DIII-D tokamak located at General Atomics or the National Spherical Torus Experiment Upgrade located at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, or tokamaks located abroad.
