Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $135,000.00 Annually
Maximum $135,000.00 Annually

Job Summary
In this role, you will supervise dental students and/or residents in patient care and pre-clinical activities at the College of Dental, with a primary role in The Dental Center. You will collaborate with clinic administration to ensure an efficient, humanistic, and patient-centered clinic operation providing high quality care to patients. Additionally, you will educate students according to the standards of the College of Dental Medicine (CDM) and provide direct treatment to patients in a broad range of general dentistry services as required for operational success.

  • Recognized knowledge and experience in a broad range of general dentistry diagnostic and treatment services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to both individuals and groups in writing and orally.
  • Ability to interact in an effective and positive manner with individuals of diverse backgrounds,
  • including administration, faculty, residents, students, staff, patients, and outside contacts.
  • Ability to effectively conduct detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities in an academic environment.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.

Required Qualifications
Education

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or equivalent.


Licensure

  • Must hold an active California dental license or be eligible to obtain licensure or a faculty special permit in the state of California.

Preferred Qualifications
Education

  • Completion of a residency program in advanced general dentistry (GPR or AEGD) and/or 3-5 years of clinical practice is preferred.


Experience

  • Experience in academics and/or clinical research is desirable.
