The Department’s mission is to improve health and reduce health disparities in local communities, the state of Maryland, and the nation. The Department offers an MPH degree in biostatistics, a Ph.D. degree in biostatistics and bioinformatics (jointly offered with the Department of Mathematics), an MPH degree in epidemiology, and a Ph.D. degree in epidemiology.

The School of Public Health is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health and is located on the flagship campus of the University of Maryland. The School’s vision is “to be a leader in the discovery, application, and dissemination of public health knowledge in the State of Maryland, the nation, and the world.” The successful candidate will contribute to fulfilling this vision.
