The Center for Infection and Immunity (CII) is located in the Mailman School of Public Health on the Columbia University Irving Medical Center campus. Since 2001, the CII has been at the forefront of infectious disease outbreaks (such as SARS, MERS, LuJo, West Nile, Zika, COVID-19 to name a few) and researching causative agents for chronic illness (such as autism, ME/CFS, and long-COVID). The CII also hosts the Global Alliance for Pandemic Prevention (GAPP), which provides support and capacity building to international collaborators in the quest for surveillance and characterization of novel infections.
