University of Southern California, Levan Institute for the Humanities

The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is located in the heart of downtown L.A. and is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. As an employee of USC, you will be a part of a world-class research university and a member of the “Trojan Family,” which is comprised of the faculty, students and staff that make the university what it is.

The USC Levan Institute for the Humanities in Dornsife College serves as a hub for the humanities and humanistic social sciences at the University of Southern California, connecting faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and students across disciplines, departments, programs and institutes. It complements and coordinates other efforts across the humanities broadly conceived, and develops new initiatives that support research and teaching. The institute’s activities include hosting scholarly meetings, public events, visiting scholars, and research projects.

The USC Society of Fellows in the Humanities is an interdisciplinary community of postdoctoral scholars and faculty members in the humanities and humanistic social sciences. The Society is home to roughly 10 Postdoctoral and Faculty Fellows. Every year, the SoFH runs a major competition to select new postdoctoral fellows.
