Florida State University, National High Magnetic Field Laboratory
Tallahassee, FL, USA
The Magnet Science and Technology Division of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) is seeking an exceptional individual for a Research Analyst position for magnet design and system analysis. Position level will be commensurate with experience.
The NHMFL is an NSF-funded user facility that operates the world’s most powerful electro- magnets at Florida State University, the Univ. of Florida and Los Alamos National Lab including a 45 T dc magnet and a 35.2 T (1.5 GHz) NMR magnet. Present projects include development of a 40 T all-superconducting magnet. Our long-term plan includes development of 30 T NMR magnets, neutron scattering magnets, and resistive-superconducting hybrid magnets up to 60 T.
This position will primarily involve structural mechanics, but also electromagnetic, and thermal analysis with system design in the future as new projects develop. The incumbent will be organizing and carrying out work...
