Welcome to the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomical Sciences! We are a vibrant department committed to excellence in research, teaching and service.

We are committed to expanding neuroscience at UMMC by recruiting research-intensive faculty from all branches of neurobiology. Our current areas of study include sensory and motor systems, neural development, circadian rhythms, neuroendocrine mechanisms and the neurobiology of reward and motivation. We are also building translational bridges with our clinical partners and helping enlarge the graduate program in Neuroscience.

Our Division of Clinical Anatomy oversees MS and PhD programs which train the field’s future educators. In addition, the division studies new approaches for teaching anatomy to medical, dental and other health sciences students.
