Texas A&M University at Qatar, Electrical and Computer Engineering Program

Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) is a partnership with Qatar Foundation. Established in 2003, TAMUQ offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical, Electrical and Computer, Mechanical, and Petroleum Engineering and a Master Program in Chemical Engineering. The degree programs are identical to those of the main campus at College Station, Texas. A Texas A&M University diploma is awarded to graduates.

Doha is the home of Education City (https://www.qf.org.qa/education/higher-education), a dedicated campus devoted to research and education. In addition to TAMUQ, Education City campus hosts other academic institutions including Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Carnegie Mellon University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Northwestern University, and Georgetown University. As an international institution of higher learning, TAMUQ, and its partners in Education City, have significantly contributed to the development of post-secondary education and cultural growth in Qatar.

Texas A&M University at Qatar attracts some of the best high school graduates in the region. The ECEN Program (https://www.qatar.tamu.edu/programs/ecen/) has 10 faculty members. Faculty members have a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service. The program benefits from state-of-the-art facilities and instrumentation in support of its key educational and research missions. The Electrical and Computer Engineering faculty have established strong educational and research programs on a foundation of core engineering disciplines. There is significant support in Qatar for research through funds from Qatar National Research Fund and Industry.
