The Graduate Education in bioMedical Sciences (GEMS) program is sponsored by the UI College of Medicine and is the PhD degree granting program for the Medical School. Our mission is to provide a combination of skill-based and knowledge-based training to our students, empowering the next generations of scientists aimed at the betterment of humankind through a variety of biomedical research related careers.
