Depending on qualifications of the successful candidate, the Education department is accepting applications for a tenure-track or teaching-track faculty member to join their department at Clarkson University.

Job Summary

  • Teach, mentor, and advise graduate candidates in the Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Mathematics as well as the Master of Arts in Teaching P-12 Technology and P-12 Computer Science.
  • Take a leadership role in supporting candidates in math, technology, and computer science.
  • Provide service to the department, University, community, and profession.
  • If tenure-track, conduct scholarly research and publish in peer-reviewed journals.

Minimum qualifications for teaching-track:

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics Education, Curriculum and instruction, or related fields from an accredited university.
  • National Board Certification.
  • Minimum of ten years of secondary math, computer science, and/or technology teaching experience.
  • Expertise in and commitment to field-based experiences.
  • Continual improvement and collaborative mindset.

Minimum qualifications for tenure-track:

  • Earned doctoral degree in Mathematics Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related fields from a accredited university.
  • Minimum of five years of secondary math, computer science, and/or technology teaching experience.
  • Expertise in and commitment to field-based experiences.
  • Continual improvement and collaborative mindset.
  • Evidence of research agenda or potential for research and grant writing. 

Preferred Qualifications for all candidates:

  • Post-secondary teaching experience working with teacher preparation programs.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising student teachers.
  • Experience with national program accreditation agencies such as the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP).
  • Experience with the edTPA and program assessment.
  • Expertise in multicultural education, or culturally-relevant pedagogy.
  • Grant writing and management.
  • Ability to teach hybrid or online courses.
  • Bilingual proficiency.
