The University at Buffalo is a premier, research-intensive public university dedicated to academic excellence and making a positive impact on the world.
The Stephen Still Institute for Sustainable Transportation and Logistics is within the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering. The department is a vibrant engine for generating the knowledge, tools, and leadership needed to address society’s most challenging problems in the natural and built environments. Our specialty areas comprise structural and earthquake engineering, transportation engineering, environmental and water resources engineering, and geotechnical engineering.
We are committed to providing the highest quality undergraduate and graduate education experience. We offer ABET-accredited bachelor of science degree programs in civil engineering and in environmental engineering, as well as graduate degrees in both civil and environmental engineering. As a Tier 1 research institution, we offer outstanding research opportunities in our PhD and MS programs, and we actively enable research opportunities for our undergraduate students. Our undergraduate and graduate programs offer the breadth expected from a comprehensive Tier 1 university, but maintain the close-knit feeling associated with a much smaller institution, facilitated through multiple student clubs and an engaged faculty and staff.
