Principal Duties : The position will help lead the Department’s applied research and engagement efforts in agricultural policy. Specifically, the individual will analyze agricultural policy and its effects in areas such as crop insurance, commodity programs, conservation programs, and trade policy for producers in Indiana and beyond. The candidate’s applied research program will contribute to nationally recognized outreach and academic research programs. They will develop a reputation as a key resource for policymakers, producers, industry, and taxpayers in analyzing the consequences of proposed policy alternatives. The individual will also contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Finally, opportunities will exist to work with the Department’s many centers of excellence including the Center for Commercial Agriculture, the Global Trade Analysis Project, and the Center for Food and Agricultural Business. This is an academic year appointment.
