Purdue University, School of Engineering Education

Purdue’s School of Engineering Education is a vibrant and growing community of scholars who envision ways of transforming engineering education based on scholarship and research.

Our programs include First-year Engineering (2,500 students and growing), an accredited undergraduate program in Multidisciplinary Engineering, an undergraduate Interdisciplinary Engineering Studies Program, and a Ph.D. program in Engineering Education.

The research interests of our faculty are very diverse and span aspects of engineering education from pre-kindergarten through college and into engineering practice.

We are home to the INSPIRE Research Institute for Pre-College Engineering and a wide range of labs and research programs focused on improving student learning and assessment; enhancing diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice; developing tools, methods, and theories for engineering education research; and translating research into transformative educational practice with system-scale change.

Emerging opportunities include learning in industry, online learning, and engineering ethics education.
