The Department of Biomedical Sciences provides preclinical education for the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) at Western University of Health Sciences. We invite applications from highly motivated individuals for a position in Biochemistry/Genetics. This is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank on the COMP campus in Pomona, California. Required qualifications for the position are: i) PhD/MD or equivalent degree in life sciences, and ii) several years of post-doctoral experience in teaching Biochemistry at an accredited institution of higher learning. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching Biochemistry and Genetics with robust scholarly activity, a significant history of extramural funding, and a strong potential to obtain extramural grant support for their research program. Competitive start-up support and laboratory space will be offered.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills and perspectives. We are seeking candidates who can: i) deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences, and ii) produce extramurally funded research and scholarly achievements to enhance the program and the discipline.
