McNeese State University, located in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is a public university and a member of the University of Louisiana System. McNeese, founded in 1939, has approximately 5,700 undergraduate and 500 graduate students. It offers graduate degrees across a range of disciplines including agriculture, business, education, engineering, English, creative writing, music, and nursing. Located in a culturally diverse area with a population of more than 180,000 (Lake Charles and suburbs), the campus encompasses over 386 acres and is conveniently located to serve students from both southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas.
