The Atlanta University Center, Inc. - Robert W. Woodruff Library supports the teaching, learning and scholarly missions of four of the institutions of higher learning that comprise the world’s largest consortium of HBCUs—Clark Atlanta University, the Interdenominational Theological Center, Morehouse College, and Spelman College. Conveniently located and easily accessible to the campuses, the Woodruff Library is physically and academically at the hub of the intellectual and social life within the Atlanta University Center. The Archives Research Center (ARC), a department of the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library has a rich collection documenting the African American experience, the African Diaspora and the institutional history of the AUC. The extensive ARC collection of manuscript writings, books, personal papers, organizational and institutional records, and media supports research in education, literature, the arts, religion, politics and society and community empowerment. The AUC Woodruff Library is the official custodian of the Morehouse College Martin Luther King Collection. The Atlanta University Center – Robert W. Woodruff Library is recipient of two Communicator Awards for print communication materials, the 2016 ACRL Academic Library of the Year among other recognitions. Position Summary: Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Human Resources Director will provide executive level support and leadership of HR and the team responsible for development and delivery of services for purposes of regulatory compliance, the interpretation of relevant laws and the goal for excellence in the workplace and wellbeing of library employees. Summary: Works in collaboration with the CEO and the CFO to set objectives for operations of the Human Resources Department; Supervises all HR personnel, motivating and developing team members on a regular basis; Works with executive leadership to develop organization’s strategic plan and department’s annual work plans; Serves as the HR compliance representative for the organization to include the conduct of audits, investigation of policy violations and risk management and workplace safety related issues and all IRS and employee law filings; Administers and maintains an accurate policy management system; Manages the administrative processes related to 403(b) plan; Collaborates with other members of the HR and Finance departments to conduct and implement organizational related procedures and processes; Assists with execution of organizational strategic projects as assigned; Serves as a member of the AUCC-Council of HR Directors; Serves as the Compliance officer to the Board of Trustees in support of the Whistleblower policy; Advocates for the privacy of employee records and facilitates efficient access to asset files in adherence with company policy and federal and state laws with regard to information security and management; Leads the employee development and performance management process including selection, management and evaluation of systems and related tools; Maintains HRIS system set-up and information to include testing and implementation of new systems and system upgrades; Compiles and provides analysis of compensation program and other HR related data for internal and external reporting; Manages the annual benefit renewal process and engagements with the benefit broker for presentation and approval by CEO; Oversees management of and employee communications about the benefits program for employees at all stages of engagement; Develops and presents the Human Resources annual budget; Works with executive leadership to identify and develop effective workforce strategies and personnel needs; Oversight of the talent acquisition (recruiting) process from position authorizations, postings, screenings, interviews and subsequent decision making relevant to hiring; Works with leadership as a gatekeeper for the organization with regard to workplace culture; Works with the HR team to manage the orientation and onboarding process for all new hires; Responsible for delivery of individual, supervisory, department or organization-wide training and recognitions; Manages the resolution of employee performance and/or employee relations issues or needs, and supports managers with execution of performance improvement plans; Maintains thorough knowledge of U.S. and Georgia employment law, labor laws and healthcare reform for direction and consultation with executive leadership; Participates in the payroll process ensuring adherence to processing procedures, checks and balances, and maintenance of payroll related systems and policies.
