Position Summary The Dean of Natural and Physical Sciences, Business, Technology, Engineering and Math reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Baltimore City Community College. The Dean will be responsible for the realignment and growth of the current School of Business, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. As part of the realignment the Dean will work collaboratively to create pathways between workforce and the academy. The Dean is responsible for leadership, curriculum, assessment, program development, scheduling, personnel management, and financial accountability for the academic areas within the Division. Program Overview The BCCC Construction program for Industrial Maintenance Mechanics (IMM) includes virtual and in person instruction using National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum. Instruction is aligned to national standards for maintenance mechanics on the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment in industrial and commercial settings. This program covers the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for maintenance mechanics, including completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pumps and related building machines based on engineering specifications for equipment. Students learn blueprint reading and troubleshooting with a focus on monitoring and repair of building systems such as boilers, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Overview of position: Leading High School Students in the design, and hands-on construction of robotics, as well as creating the manufacturing tools and processes that will build the robots.  Lead program curriculum, sessions, and lessons focused on engineering and technology. The Earth Science faculty member is responsible for developing instructional material and teaching a range of earth science courses, potentially including soil science in classroom and lab settings.  Duties include, but are not limited to, providing instruction as assigned; conducting and assessing instruction; developing and/or modifying curriculum; assisting students through academic advising; establishing, posting, and maintaining office hours; providing leadership for the development, growth, and support of the College and the assigned area; and undertaking professional community service.  Other duties include supporting the mission, vision and values of the College and policies of the Board of Trustees; serving on various College committees, task forces and other groups; and participating in various official College ceremonies and meetings.  This is a 10-month, tenure-track faculty position scheduled to begin August 2021.

  Seek continuous improvement in teaching (classroom and on-line) methodology and student centered learning. Stay current in the operation of CDL vehicles and the commercial transportation industry. Maintain scheduled availability to students. Develop an individual professional development plan. Assist other faculty in developing, managing courses, and curricula in Continuing Education. Assist in student recruitment and selection. Maintain laboratories, supplies and equipment. Remain knowledgeable about the College, its structure, culture, policies, practices, and the Commercial Vehicle Training program. Serve as an advocate for the College and its students, as required.
