Program Overview The BCCC Construction program for Industrial Maintenance Mechanics (IMM) includes virtual and in person instruction using National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum. Instruction is aligned to national standards for maintenance mechanics on the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment in industrial and commercial settings. This program covers the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for maintenance mechanics, including completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pumps and related building machines based on engineering specifications for equipment. Students learn blueprint reading and troubleshooting with a focus on monitoring and repair of building systems such as boilers, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. The Adult Basic Education (ABE) Advanced Mathematics and Language Arts Instructor plans and implements instruction to students enrolled in the Adult Education/GED Program, which offers Literacy, Pre-GED and GED courses. The instructor is responsible for the instruction, assessment and student progress in GED level courses. These courses are designed to be responsive to the needs and expectations of the diverse community and students we serve. Our goal is to help students achieve their career and learning goals. Responsibilities include teaching, developing and implementing lesson plans, differentiating instruction, following student record keeping processes and procedures, and preparing students for the GED exam.

  Seek continuous improvement in teaching (classroom and on-line) methodology and student centered learning. Stay current in the operation of CDL vehicles and the commercial transportation industry. Maintain scheduled availability to students. Develop an individual professional development plan. Assist other faculty in developing, managing courses, and curricula in Continuing Education. Assist in student recruitment and selection. Maintain laboratories, supplies and equipment. Remain knowledgeable about the College, its structure, culture, policies, practices, and the Commercial Vehicle Training program. Serve as an advocate for the College and its students, as required.
