HCC is seeking an experienced Human Resources leader to oversee and direct the human resources, including payroll functions, and public safety departments of the College, and to develop and implement the strategic direction of those departments. The AVP oversees fifteen full-time employees and three part-time employees, with direct supervision of the Director for Public Safety, Benefits Specialist, Associate Director for Human Resources, Coordinator for Professional Development, and the payroll staff. The AVP is responsible for assuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as College policies and procedures; employee relations, including conducting internal investigations and responding to EEOC, MDHRC, and OCR claims; departmental budget development and administration; HR procedure development and implementation; researching and implementing compensation systems, including participating in market studies; providing senior-level oversight of search and recruiting functions, HR systems and data management, benefits administration, and an in-house payroll processing system; developing and implementing professional training and development activities; and performing other duties as assigned. This is an exempt, administrator position reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration.
