Job Description:
The Coordinator of Accounting assists in the interpretation and implementation of federal and state laws and rules for the College’s financial accounting procedures and internal controls relating to the expenditure of restricted funds. Assists with review of grant proposals and restricted contracts. Supervises Accounting staff. Prepares various financial and related reports as required by the District Board of Trustees, grantors, and as mandated by federal and state laws. Prepares budget amendments and journal entries for appropriate adjustments to the College’s accounting records. Writes reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Meets with and is the liaison between accounting and Grant Director/staff. Reviews and/or prepares purchase requisitions, ad hoc transactions, travel authorizations, spend authorizations, and other related financial information.
