Job Description:

The Adjunct Assistant/Associate Professor will be assigned teaching, scholarly activity, service, and clinical practice responsibilities as a part-time faculty member in the COM. They will report to the Chair of the Department of Primary Care and participate and assist the Department Chair and colleagues in the development and delivery of curricula to integrate the medical specialties in team-based, large and small group learning environments as well as physical exam and clinical teaching.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Continuously prepares and teaches course material throughout the four-year DO curriculum, which may include assignments in the classroom setting, teaching physical exam and/or osteopathic manipulative medicine laboratories, simulation events and/or remote web-based education. Teaching assignments in medical simulations includes standardized patients (SPs), manikin-based simulation and other clinical education
  • Actively participates in weekly curriculum along with formative and summative assessment of students
  • Provides student advisement, remediation assistance, and may be requested to hold office hours
  • Continuously participates in admissions activities
  • Collaboration with variety of faculty and staff across all colleges within the University
  • Understands accreditation standards and expectations specific to the department and adheres to policies and procedures to meet or exceed such standards


Other Duties and Responsibilities may include:

  • Supports student research/scholarly activity
  • Participates in continued professional development
  • Participation in COM or University service as requested
  • Clinical practice and oversight of medical students in clinical settings which may include: Score 1, Health Fairs, Immunization clinics, Community clinic, etc.
  • Participates in Commencement and White Coat ceremonies
