Home Visitor Education Program - HIPPY

Hiring Department

The University of Texas Permian Basin's Department of Community and Family Health welcomes applications for the position of Home Visitor with our HIPPY Program

 



Salary Range

 



$33,600.00 depending on qualifications

 



Essential Functions

This position is responsible for recruiting and outreach activities for the program, providing weekly home visits to program participants, including role play, curriculum delivery, responding to questions from participants, completing assessments/screenings, planning and implementing group meetings for participants, and accurately documenting services within given deadlines.

Recruit and maintain a caseload of HIPPY families as assigned by the HIPPY Coordinator in alignment with HIPPY model guidance.

1. Serve families via traditional delivery (in-home), via teleservice/interactive video conferencing, or via a hybrid approach based on identified family needs and model best practices.
2. Attend weekly roleplay, staff meetings, and periodic member development training.
3. Support families via weekly home visits, roleplay curriculum packets, and respond to questions or concerns families may have.
4. Conduct assessments/screenings, review scores with families, and refer to community supports as needed.
5. Organize and implement group meetings and special events for families throughout the year.
6. Connect families to community resources relevant to family needs, follow-up with resource connections, and properly document resource connections and progress notes.
7. Participate and attend Texas HIPPY trainings, events, and service projects.
8. Accurately document all service provision, both electronically and physically, within designated timeframes.
9. Maintain accurate timesheets and all other reporting as required by HIPPY US, and Texas HIPPY.
10. Participate in the data collection and data entry of evaluation instruments to measure progress and impact of the HIPPY program.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
Ability to complete duties within deadlines and while attending to multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to travel to multiple locations within Midland and Ector counties.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years' experience in early childhood and/or prevention services.
Prior experience as a HIPPY family/participant.
Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Schedule

 



Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.

 



Standard Working Conditions

 



1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
6. Standard working conditions may differ depending on department and occupation
