The Department of Business & Administration in the Faculty of Business & Economics at The University of Winnipeg invites applications for one (1) tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in operations and supply chain management. The department seeks candidates with a demonstrated interest in operations management, supply chain management, datamining, programming (Python, Java, VBA), data warehousing, data visualization, machine learning/artificial intelligence, etc. Teaching excellence and an effective applied research program are expected of all candidates.

Expected start date can be as early as July 1, 2024, however this is negotiable. This position is subject to budgetary approval. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Business and Administration Department (www.uwinnipeg.ca/business) is among the largest in the University. It offers both a 3-year and 4-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree based on an innovative interdisciplinary approach to business education emphasizing social and ethical responsibility. The 4-year BBA provides a variety of concentration options. The department also offers a Master in Management program in two streams: 1) Data Analytics and 2) Technology, Innovation, and Operations Management.

The selected candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an independent research program and contribute actively to Departmental administration. Teaching responsibilities may include online course development and delivery.

The selected candidate may be asked to teach introductory business courses in addition to courses in operations and supply chain management at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate may also be asked to teach graduate classes within anew Master in Management (MiM) program in Data Analytics, including data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence, optimization, and other advanced Analytics topics. Candidates should be willing and have skills to teach using various instructional modalities (face-to-face, online, blended).

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. (or near completion) in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Operations Research, Engineering, or a closely-related discipline. Selection will be based on potential and demonstrated strength in research, teaching, and service. We seek individuals committed to meaningful contribution to Departmental governance, respectful collaboration within and across the University, and constructive problem-solving.
