The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

The individual in this position will conduct experimental research in immune cell engineering for cancer immunotherapy. The project involves 1) engineering T cells and NK cells with novel chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) and
2) validating their anti-cancer specificity and efficacy, both in vitro and in vivo, in xenograft mouse models. I

If successful, this work will lead to an innovative prototype of cellular immunotherapy for acute myeloid leukemia and other types of cancer.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of immunology, pharmaceutical sciences, biological sciences, bioengineering, or related fields.

Skills in mammalian cell culture, in vitro and in vivo cell-based assays. Ability to work on multiple projects independently and collaboratively.

Required Qualifications
Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Ph.D. in immunology, pharmaceutical sciences, biological sciences, bioengineering, or related fields.
  • At least one first-author peer-reviewed publication in a respected journal.
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture and in vitro/in vivo cell-based assays.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Must have a desire to understand and enhance cancer immunology and immunotherapy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with mouse xenograft models for evaluation of cancer therapy.
  • Experience with in vitro and in vivo immune cell functional analysis.
  • Experience performing ELISA, flow cytometry, and other immunological assays.
  • Experience with molecular cloning and lentiviral gene transduction.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
