Position Summary
Provides guidance and leadership in the delivery of services based on functional area of focus ensuring that organizational/district initiatives are met.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field plus three (3) years of work-related experience. Official transcripts are required. Special licenses or certifications may be required depending on the nature of the position.  Must have valid driver’s license if traveling to off‐site locations. *** Will be subject to a criminal background check. Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check. ***

 

Preferred Skills / Additional Requirements:

Experience in Workforce development and non-credit training to meet the workforce/industry needs. This position will lead and direct workforce and community education services through business partnerships and workforce training programs. Must have knowledge and experience wiith non-credit and grant offerings.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and implementing strategic organizational effectiveness processes and learning initiatives. Provides leadership coaching, training, and organizational development to employees.  Conducts needs assessments, delivers system-wide training programs for all staff and assesses effectiveness of training.  Uses assessment and feedback to identify areas for improvement; proposes changes to existing training and recommends new initiatives for implementation.  Work with colleagues to create new forms and processes that will increase awareness and streamline business protocol.  Follow policies and procedures of the district and organization to meet organizational goals.  Works collaboratively with the department staff, leadership, professional development council and the district council to develop strategy, standardize processes and meet the professional development requests of the employees.  Collaborate with staff on multiple projects to review planning, project time-lines and set priorities in order to complete the project and meet the goals and expectations of the organization.  Develops budget, monitors and approves expenditures related to professional development.  Research a variety of topics for the purpose of developing new programs that meet staff training requirements.  Leads discussions related to new concepts or strategies needed to solve a business problem.  Interpret policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to training.  Provide engaging interactive and effective training presentation for all diverse employee groups.  Creates announcements for the campus-wide community. Must complete required DCCCD Professional Development training hours per academic year.  Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse internal/external stakeholders and constituents within the DCCCD community network.  Performs other duties as assigned.
