POSITION SUMMARY
Dominican University invites applicants for adjunct teaching positions in Physician Assistant Department for future semesters. Instructors are sought on a rolling basis in anticipation of future program needs. There is no start date or deadline for application; candidates may be contacted regarding interest in future opportunities as they arise. Adjunct Faculty appointments are per semester, contingent upon enrollment.
 
Responsibilities will include graduate instruction in didactic and/or clinical year in area(s) of expertise.
 
JOB COMPONENTS
  • Provide exemplary instruction in the didactic, simulation lab and clinical areas of teaching
  • Participate in mentoring and role modeling for PA students
  • Collaborate with Clinical Coordinator for appropriate and optimal student placement
  • Partner with Clinical Simulation Manager to develop, implement, and evaluate clinical scenarios within the simulation laboratory environment to optimize student learning outcomes
  • Commitment to fostering an equitable and inclusive community for students and colleagues
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Illinois license as Physician Assistant
  • Master's Degree required; Doctoral degree preferred
  • Two years of clinical medical experience required
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Evidence of undergraduate teaching excellence preferred
  • Preferred clinical practice experience in the following, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Women's Health, Behavioral Health, and Surgery preferred.
