Job Description

 

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

  • The Department of Pathology at CHP does approximately 12,000 Surgical Pathology accessions, 1,500 cytological specimens and 40 pediatric autopsies per year.
  • Material ranges from the routine examples of pediatric disease to cases of the highest complexity of modern medicine.
  • The Department has an ACGME accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Pathology, and which emphasizes academic work with the fellows and requires faculty mentoring

 JOB DUTIES:

  • sign out of surgical pathology cases, review cytological specimens, pediatric autopsies
  • teach Pathology fellows and Pathology residents
  • participate in research initiatives as needed

Preferred and Required Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates must have an M.D./M.D.,Ph.D degree or equivalent,
  • Board-certification is required in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology or Anatomic Pathology
  • Preference will be given to candidates who completed formal training in an ACGME accredited Pediatric Pathology Fellowship program and are either Board Certified or eligible for special certification in Pediatric Pathology.
