Lab is interested in the origins of physiology and the molecular genetics of muscle performance, metabolic disease, inflammation (including atherosclerosis and diabetes), and cancer and using this information to devise small-molecule therapy.
The Research Assistant II position is responsible for mouse colony management including maintenance of pieces of equipment utilized in the animal facility, facilitating investigators in animal research, protocol writing, liaison between lab staff and IACUC and training of new lab staff in regards to animal work. In addition, position also entails some bench work involving molecular biology and help in the maintenance of the lab in general.
This position requires constant adjusting focus, seeing, sitting, and working inside.
