Job Description

This position will assist with developing, designing and executing complex research projects, participate in acquiring research funding, including writing grant proposals and traveling to research sites.


  • Assist in planning and performing quantitative and qualitative research procedures in various prevention/intervention areas related to juveniles and their families.
  • Assist with the development, design and execution of large and complex research projects; and participate in the development and implementation of research protocols.
  • Plan, design and execute program evaluation plans including data collection and data analysis; and prepare reports for publication and presentation at professional meetings.
  • Participate in acquiring research funding including writing grant proposals.
  • Travel to and from research study sites, conference presentations and professional development.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in applicable field
  • Six years of related experience

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Earned doctorate in a discipline of social science (criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work, education, or other related field )
  • Research interests and/or agenda focused on juvenile justice, juvenile crime prevention, and/or juvenile offending

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of statistical analyses and statistical analyses software.
  • Knowledge of research in practical and/or basic sciences and scientific publications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently once given a project.
