Minimum Qualifications• Earned MFA or equivalent in Printmaking or related area• Evidence of teaching effectiveness• Evidence of promising creative or scholarly practice within the field of printmaking• Proficiency in teaching relief printing, intaglio printing, and digital processes for printmaking• Ability to teach all levels of printmaking, seminar courses, and capstone courses within the studio art curriculum• Experience with or commitment to building a shared vision for the printmaking area• Interest in and ability to engage in critical dialogues across disciplines• Experience with or commitment to educating and mentoring students of various backgrounds and demographics
Areas of Interest (No Minimum Level Required)• College-level teaching experience beyond the graduate assistant level• Experience with or interest in extending the practice of printmaking beyond traditional boundaries• Knowledge of current and emerging trends in printmaking• Broad vision of the role of printmaking in an undergraduate curriculum• Evidence of critical thinking about the medium of printmaking• Proficiency in teaching lithography, screenprinting, book-arts, and/or letterpress

Description of the Department or UnitThe Studio Art area of the Department of Art offers a BFA in Studio Art with concentrations in printmaking, drawing and painting, fibers, metals, ceramics and sculpture. There are more than 110 Studio Art majors and more than 110 Studio Art minors. Studio Art faculty also play a central role in providing coursework for Art Department majors in Art Education, Graphic Design, and Art and Visual Culture, and participate in offering general education courses for non-majors across campus.
The Department of Art is accredited by NASAD and has 47 full-time faculty members, over 20 part-time faculty members, over 800 undergraduate majors and offers the following degrees: BFAs in Art Education, Graphic Design, Photography with concentrations in Commercial and Fine Art, and Studio Art; a BA in Art & Visual Culture with concentrations in Art History, Art Management and Studio Art; and a BS in Graphic Communications Management with concentrations in Cross Media Production and Print/ Packaging Production. The Department of Art offers a range of travel opportunities including trips to the university’s New York Loft and has offered study abroad trips to China, Costa Rica, Cuba, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Scotland, Spain, and Taiwan. Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Teach three courses per semester (9cr hours) in printmaking, foundations, related areas and/or general education areas• Participate in departmental and university service, including collaboration with printmaking and studio art colleagues on curriculum, program development and student advisingSustained scholarly/ creative practice research program in the field of printmaking
