Position Summary:
Dyson College of Arts and Sciences of Pace University invites applications for two faculty positions to begin September 1, 2024 at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure track) for the Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (Health Emphasis) program located at the University’s campus in lower Manhattan. The program is seeking accreditation by the American Psychological Association (APA) as a scientist practitioner doctoral psychology program.
The position involves primarily teaching courses in the Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (Health Emphasis) Program, with opportunities to be involved in the Psy.D. in School-Clinical Child Program and Ph.D. School Psychology Program. Limited opportunities for teaching at the Master’s or undergraduate level may be available.
The Department of Psychology at Pace University offers six graduate programs (Psy.D. in School-Clinical Child Psychology, Ph.D. in School Psychology, Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (Health Emphasis), M.S.Ed. in School Psychology, M.S. in Clinical Psychology, M.A. in Psychology), two undergraduate programs (B.A. in Psychology and B.A. in Applied Psychology and Human Relations), and a combined B.A./M.A. program.
The ideal candidates will possess the following:
The successful candidate must have an earned Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Health Psychology from an APA accredited training program and must be licensed in New York State (or be eligible for licensure).
This position also requires a demonstrated ability to develop a strong program of research that involves students with potential for grant funding. The research area is open and may be any area within Clinical Health Psychology including but not limited to research within specific conditions or disease contexts (e.g., oncology, multiple sclerosis, ob/gyn), biological bases of health and behavior (e.g., psychoneuroimmunology, psychophysiology, neuropsychology), or other relevant topics (e.g., chronic pain, health behaviors). Candidates with research areas focused on and/or records of service aimed at supporting populations that experience marginalization/stigmatization are particularly desirable.
Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000.
