The School of Accounting and Finance is one of the constituent units of the Faculty of Business and is the longest established accounting school in Hong Kong with over 80 full-time academic as well as teaching staff in the areas of accounting, finance, economics, and law. The School has adequate resources to support a variety of research interests and activities, and has comparative advantage in promoting cross-disciplinary research that is needed in the modern business world. The School has maintained an excellent network with overseas and Mainland China institutions for collaborative work.
The research of our Faculty of Business has been ranked 52nd in the world (The UTD Top 100 Worldwide Business School Rankings based on research contributions for the period 2018-2022). During the last few years, faculty members were successful in publishing their research papers in top-tier refereed journals, including Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies and Contemporary Accounting Research.

Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) conduct research in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) or related areas and contribute to the development of the School’s research strengths;
(b) undertake teaching duties in the areas of ESG, Accounting or Finance at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
(c) supervise student projects and theses;
(d) initiate, lead and participate in scholarly research in his / her areas of expertise, which will lead to quality journal publications and in bidding for external research grants and projects;
(e) undertake relevant administrative duties, including programme leadership, curriculum development, programme validation, accreditation, etc.; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of School or her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a PhD degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant discipline;
(b) good publication records;
(c) strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research;
(d) good networking ability; and
(e) excellent communication skills and the ability to use English as the medium of instruction.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment for Assistant Professor will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. An appropriate term will be provided for appointment at Associate Professor level.
