 Instructor (Clinical Therapeutics) Position #34247

 The College of Pharmacy, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, Canada invites applications for a full-time, term position of up to three years, with opportunity for renewal, at the rank of Instructor I/II or senior instructor, commencing March 4, 2024 or on a negotiated date.  Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and in accordance with the University of Manitoba Faculty Association collective agreement.

Major responsibilities for the position will include in-person teaching and service at the College of Pharmacy and the University.  Activities will include course development, coordination, teaching, and assessment in the Clinical Therapeutics stream of courses, as well as assisting in the Applied Pharmacy Practice Labs (APPL) stream of courses in the PharmD program. The successful candidate will also support the development and delivery of Continuing Professional Development for practicing pharmacists.  The position will represent the College on relevant University and professional committees and associations.

The successful candidate will possess a PharmD or BSc. (Pharm) degree, with relevant practice experience; relevant advanced degrees (e.g., M.Ed., M.Sc., Ed.D., PhD) with a clinical or education focus will be considered an asset. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in innovative practices in community, primary care/ambulatory care, or hospital/institutional pharmacy.  Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills for productive teamwork are essential for this position. In-person teaching experience is preferred, and the ability to teach in a virtual on-line environment is an asset. The successful candidate must have an active pharmacy practicing license, be in good standing and be eligible for licensure in Manitoba.

The College of Pharmacy is located in the state-of-the-art Apotex Centre on the Bannatyne Campus at the University of Manitoba.  It has a long history of excellence in pharmacy education and research and maintains strong associations with professional bodies and practicing pharmacists in hospital, community, and primary care settings. As part of the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences (RFHS) it is situated on a dynamic campus that provides opportunities for interprofessional collaboration in health sciences education, research, and practice. The College of Pharmacy also offers graduate programs (MSc and PhD); research conducted includes many aspects of pharmaceutical sciences including Population Therapeutics and Health Outcomes and Translational Pharmacotherapy and Practice.  The campus has excellent library facilities and is proximal to several tertiary teaching hospitals of the Winnipeg Region Health Authority (WRHA), one of the largest and most diverse health regions in Canada.
