Closing: Position Summary Temporary Faculty Sociology Dual CreditDepartment of Criminal Justice, Social Work, and Sociology The Department of Criminal Justice, Social Work, and Sociology at Southeast Missouri State University is seeking candidates to teach as part-time dual credit online temporary sociology instructors starting in the Spring 2024 semester.
Dual credit courses are offered through agreements between local area high schools and Southeast Missouri State University. High school juniors or seniors enroll in a distance education online college course and simultaneously earn college credit and high school credit for the course.
We are interested in applicants with experience teaching Introduction to Sociology in a dual credit course environment. Experience with Canvas is required, with OSCQR (the Online Course Quality Review Rubric)
or QM (Quality Matters) experience a plus.
Required Qualifications - Master's Degree in sociology (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university).
- Minimum of 18 hours of graduate coursework in sociology
- Demonstrated prior teaching experience at the undergraduate college level
- Demonstrated prior experience using Canvas as a Learning Module System (LMS)
- Demonstrated prior teaching experience in a dual credit environment
- Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the university community
