Job Summary: SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for a Senior Counselor with in our Educational Opportunity Program. The person in this role will provide counseling services to students enrolled in the program. They will reports to the Director of EOP, as well as supporting and advising a Graduate Counselor. The person in this role will serve as the liaison for the Undergraduate Admissions Office, and as member of the College-wide Diversity Committee.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
Ability to work with a culturally and ethnically diverse population.
Strong written and communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in assessment and assisting students to improve learning outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in counseling, educational administration or a related field by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
Significant experience in college counseling to include academic advisement, career, or financial aid counseling.
Experience with SCT Banner, Bright Space and/or other student management software.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
Salary and Benefits: The Minimum Salary for this position is $57,846.
