Job Summary: Under faculty and/or lab instructor supervision, aide will assist students with laboratory activities, provide peer-tutoring on lab topics andassist the instructor in lab preparation, implementation and clean-up, general maintenance/organization of lab space, supplies and equipment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: In order of priority:
Assist students with laboratory activities. Provide peer-tutoring on lab topics. Assist lab instructor with preparation, implementation and clean-up. Assist lab instructor with in the general maintenance/organization of lab space, supplies and equipment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued:
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of a College-level general biology course with a C or above.Completion with a B or above in the lab in which they will assist.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: General knowledge of basic biology.Knowledge of the content that pertains directly to the lab they will be an aide for.Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, with differing abilities, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds in order to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
