Job Title Part-Time Library Assistant
Job Description

Job Summary:
The Part-Time Library Assistant is responsible for assisting Library staff with reference and information literacy workshops and updating the Library’s website. The assistant will gain insight into the day-to-day operations of an academic art library. This is a part-time, fixed-term position ending June 30, 2020. This position reports directly to Interim Director of Library Services.

Location Los Angeles, CA (Westchester)
Essential Duties Summary

Responsibilities:
• Provide reference support in person and via email. (Does not include weekend hours)
• Update and create web-based materials for library instruction.
• Teach information literacy workshops to undergraduate students.
• Archive and migrate Library content, including annual reports, from the learning management system to new website.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Ability to conduct basic art and design research using bibliographic sources and citations.
• Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of basic reference sources and reference practices.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Basic understanding of web design.
• Proficient with LibGuides software and/or basic HTML coding is preferred.
• Proficient in Mac and Windows operating systems and commonly used productivity software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a culturally diverse environment.
